about
Clint:
This was one of the very first Fullerenes tunes, written hours before our first public performance. Jim Schleicher played drums and Bob Pep played this and some other tunes ("In The Mood," "Stormy Pinkness") on sax with me accompanying on guitar, at a party at Ryan's parent's house(?).
Speed Wayne was actually one of my coworkers when I worked at the Lapeer DQ. He was actually very, very bad at his job.
This record features Bob and Ryan on sax (Bob did the great improv solo on the bridge), plus Ryan's then-girlfriend (now his wife) and two of her friends as bobby sox girls.
lyrics
here's a song that may ease your mind
if you need to get back from lunch on time
if you need a good fast burger
let me introduce you to my coworker
on old 21 there's a place to go
on lapeer rd everybody knows
the kids are tellin' their mothers
some pattyflippers are better than others
any size of meal any time of day
whatever you want you can have it your way
way more than your brother can eat
half the wait and double the meat
speed wayne (speed speed, speed speed wayne)
speed wayne (speed speed, speed speed wayne)
speed wayne (speed speed, speed speed wayne)
speed wayne (speed wayne, speed speed wayne)
you check for pink before wolfing it down
hey these patties are an even brown
tell your kid sister not to fret
this grub is as good as it gets
the little league bus pulls in from the rain
now all the dads are here to complain
wayne says
pray for death
speed wayne (speed speed, speed speed wayne)
speed wayne (speed speed, speed speed wayne)
speed wayne (speed speed, speed speed wayne)
speed wayne (speed wayne, speed speed wayne)
"so, bob, why do they call him speed wayne?"
"uh, because... because he's really, really fast"
"guess what?"
"hehehehe"
"speed wayne made my burger today"
"speed wayne?"
"and he made my burger, with cheese, lettuce, ketchup and mustard"
"yeah?"
"in two minutes"
"wow"
"but here's the best part..."
"uh-huh?"
"no pickles and no onions. he remembered"
"huh?"
speed wayne (speed speed, speed speed wayne)
speed wayne (speed speed, speed speed wayne)
speed wayne (speed wayne, speed speed wayne)
speed wayne (speed speed, speed speed wayne)
speed wayne (speed speed, speed speed wayne)
speed wayne (speed speed, speed speed wayne)
speed wayne (speed wayne, speed speed wayne)
speed wayne (speed speed, speed speed wayne)
speed wayne (speed speed, speed speed wayne)
speed wayne (speed speed, speed speed wayne)
speed wayne (speed wayne, speed speed wayne)
speed wayne (speed speed, speed speed wayne)
